OHIO, November 8, 2016 (LifeSiteNews)–Pro-life Republican Senator Rob Portman was re-elected Tuesday, beating pro-abortion Democrat Ted Strickland.

Portman has been strongly pro-life since he was elected to the Senate in 2011. In 2012, he became supportive of same-sex “marriage,” which has divided pro-life and conservative groups in their support of him.

The Ohio Senate race was one of the closer Senate races this election. Pro-life Republican Todd Young defeated pro-abortion Evan Bayh in the Indiana Senate race.

Marco Rubio solidly won re-election to his Florida Senate seat.

The Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Missouri, Nevada, and North Carolina Senate races have not yet been called.
