WASHINGTON, D.C., January 30, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – President Trump will announce his Supreme Court nominee Tuesday night, he tweeted this morning.

Trump has pledged to nominate a justice in the mold of the late Justice Antonin Scalia. But his list of possible appointments has spurred some debate in social conservative circles.

President Trump stated in an interview last week with CBN News’ David Brody that Christians will “love” his Supreme Court pick.

“I think Evangelicals, Christians, will love my pick and will be represented very fairly, he said.

The list of potential nominees all seem to be pro-life. One potential nominee, Judge William H. Pryor Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, has drawn criticism from social conservatives for some of his seemingly liberal, pro-LGBT actions. For example, he prosecuted Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore over his display of the Ten Commandments at the Alabama Supreme Court.

Pryor also ruled in favor of a pro-LGBT middle school group in Carver Middle School Gay-Straight Alliance, v. School Board Of Lake County, Florida

SCOTUS blog writes that Pryor has “consistently” but “not uniformly…ruled in favor of parties raising religious liberty claims.”

Other alleged frontrunners include Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Neil Gorsuch and Judge Diane Sykes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
