The Sunday Times reports that the move follows a landmark legal judgment by the law lords last year, which said that a same-sex couple should be treated as a family. Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, the new president of the family division of the High Court, also ruled that homosexual couples could successfully adopt children.
