Health critic warns this can only worsen STD epidemic
LONDON, Dec 11, 2000 (LSN.ca) – The abortifacient morning-after pill will be available to girls as young as 16 in Britain even without a doctor’s prescription. Beginning in January, the drugs will be made available direct from pharmacists. As in America, the media and the abortion movement have attempted to convince the public that the pills prevent pregnancy rather than cause abortion. In fact, the pills do not allow a human embryo to implant in the mother’s womb and thus starve the already created child to death.
The BBC reports that shadow health secretary Dr Liam Fox said he was “alarmed and appalled” by the decision. “Making the morning-after pill available to all girls over 16 in this way sends the wrong message about the need for responsible sexual activity . . .It can only increase the risk of worsening the current epidemic of sexually transmitted disease.”
