CALGARY, Alberta (LifeSiteNews) – Pastor Artur Pawlowski’s brother Dawid was released today from jail after being arrested yesterday by Alberta sheriffs for a breach of his bail conditions.
Pawlowski live-streamed to his Facebook page his arrest, which appears to have taken place on a highway in the Calgary area.
Pawlowski said he was stopped by police at one of their roadside checkpoints for “commercial vehicles,” but noted to cops he was in a non-commercial “church vehicle.”
Alberta sheriffs did not at first tell Pawlowski why he was being charged, but after pressing for an answer, they said he was being arrested for “breaching conditions” of this bail.
Dawid was last arrested on New Year’s Day along with his brother in a highway takedown for allegedly breaking a court order.
Before exiting the vehicle, Pawlowski said into his phone camera, “OK, everyone, may God bless you and keep you.”
“Praise God, these people have no idea what they are doing, because what they are doing is with their own foolish hands. The fools are destroying their own houses,” Pawlowski said.
“They’re destroying Canada. They’re destroying this society. They are turning people against them until there would be nothing left. Zero respect.”
Today, Pawlowski’s family members posted an update on Facebook, saying Dawid was released on bail.
“We are strong as a family. We do not fight with flesh and blood but with principalities, powers and rulers of darkness of this age,” the message read.
“Pastor Artur’s wife is on her 10th day of fasting without any food along with many other believers who have joined the fast around the globe. Thank you for your prayers, God bless you. -The Pawlowski family.”
The Facebook post includes a statement from Artur from his jail cell regarding his brother’s arrest, in which he blasts the Alberta government of Premier Jason Kenney for having a “vendetta” against his family.
“The disgusting arrest of my brother Dawid is another proof of the state ongoing persecution of our family,” Artur said. “It is pure vengeance that has nothing to do with the law or justice. Kenney’s double standards are absolutely appalling.”
“Are Canadians Ok with this, for now, soft communism?”
The arrest of Dawid Pawlowski was met with immediate condemnation from Rebel News founder Ezra Levant, who blasted Kenney for it occurring on Ash Wednesday.
“You chose today of all days to arrest and jail Dawid Pawlowski, of Calgary’s Street Church, under your ‘health’ orders. Why did you do that today? That’s two Christian pastors rotting in your jails right now. https://SaveArtur.com. I guess you gave up mercy for Lent,” wrote Levant.
Last month, a provincial judge denied Artur Pawlowski bail, claiming he was a threat to “public safety” because he refuses to comply with COVID health rules.
As a result, Artur is still behind bars at the Calgary Remand Centre, where he will stay until a hearing takes place on March 11.
He was arrested for the fifth time on February 8 by an undercover SWAT team just before he was slated to speak at a peaceful Freedom Trucker protest at the Alberta/U.S. border near Coutts, Alberta.
The police had been staking out the Christian preacher’s home, according to Artur’s son, Nathaniel.
Artur Pawlowski’s supporters have been holding daily prayer vigils in support of the preacher outside the Calgary jail, where he is being held, demanding his immediate release. They have said they will gather outside every day until he is released.
The Pawlowskis made international headlines after they were arrested in their first highway takedown in May 2021 for holding worship services contrary to Alberta’s COVID rules affecting church service capacity limits.
Both spent a total of three nights in solitary confinement.
Kenney lifted a province-wide mask mandate Tuesday, after earlier ditching the COVID vaccine passport amid the trucker Freedom Convoy and border protests in Alberta.
Republican U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri recently said Canada should be placed on a list of nations that are “religious liberty violators” due to the continued jailing of Christian pastor Artur Pawlowski.
Kenney has admitted the vaccine passport system was effective in essentially coercing people to take the abortion-tainted experimental jab.
Despite Alberta now being mostly free of COVID rules, skepticism remains, no doubt due to many having lost their jobs in Alberta for refusing to take the COVID jabs.
