(LifeSiteNews) — Bud Light has reportedly lost its spot in the top 10 most popular beer brands in America as interest in other brands increases amid the boycott over Bud Light’s April pair-up with divisive transgender TikTok influencer Dylan Mulvaney. The news comes after Mexican beer brand Modelo Especial knocked Bud Light off its perch as the number one best-selling beer in the U.S. in May.

A YouGov survey conducted between the second quarters of 2022 and 2023 found that Bud Light slid five positions on the most-liked list from the number nine spot to number 14 despite the overall approval percentage remaining the same, Fox News reported.

Newsweek noted that, although “the proportion of Americans who ‘liked’ Bud Light hadn’t changed, staying consistent at 42%, those for a number of rival beers surged, pushing it from a tie for the ninth-most popular brand in 2022 into a tie for 14th-most popular in 2023.”

“While the percentage of Americans who said they liked Bud Light was unaffected by the Mulvaney controversy, the beer saw a pronounced drop in sales compared to 2022,” the outlet noted.

Sales of Bud Light are reportedly down nearly 29% compared with last June.

Fox noted that the beer brands that currently occupy the top five most-liked slots for American beer-drinkers are Guinness, Heineken, Corona, Samuel Adams, and Blue Moon.

The continued financial losses for Bud Light and the increased interest in alternative options come after the brand continues to endure a massive conservative-led boycott after opting to honor Mulvaney, a 26-year-old gender-confused male actor, on a promotional beer can.

Mulvaney, who gained stardom last year after he announced he was “transgender” and launched a “365 days of girlhood” TikTok series chronicling his alleged “transition” into becoming a “woman,” posted a widely panned video in April promoting the brand and thanking them for honoring him.

The beer can and video sparked outrage from conservatives and triggered the still-ongoing and highly successful boycott, backed early on by the likes of Matt Walsh, Travis Tritt, and Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The widespread rejection of the brand over its connection with Mulvaney has led to a devastating drop in sales for Bud Light and caused ripple effects in the economy as other corporations seek to avoid a similar catastrophic outcome for promoting unpopular woke ideology.

Amid the ongoing fallout, Mexican beer brand Modelo Especial surpassed Bud Light as America’s best-selling beer in May, raking in $333 million for the month compared with Bud Light’s $297 million.

Fox News noted that some U.S. stores even resorted to giving away Bud Light for free ahead of Memorial Day weekend thanks to a $15 rebate from Bud Light parent company Anheuser-Busch.

Despite continued losses, Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch have not apologized for the divisive Mulvaney partnership or publicly distanced themselves from the harmful misinformation that men can become women, and have continued supporting radical pro-LGBT events.
