OTTAWA, May 26 (Lifesitenews.com) – Yesterday the federal Liberal government forced Bill C-78 through Parliament, legislation which will appropriate the $30 billion surplus in the civil service pension fund, and which also included a clause allowing pension benefits for active homosexuals. Despite massive party pressure, six Liberal MPs voted against the motion,  standing tall for the defence of the traditional family. The bill passed by a vote of 137 to 118.

Liberal MPs Tom Wappel, Murray Calder, Charles Hubbard, Dan McTeague, Paul Steckle and Rose-Marie Ur were the Liberal MPs who voted with all the opposition parties against the bill.  This number of Liberals against the bill would have been sufficient to defeat it had not so many opposition members been absent for the vote. This measure is the latest in the government’s apparent attempts to bring in pro-homosexualist legislation piecemeal. The strategy is believed to be designed to avoid the public revolt that would likely be associated with sweeping legislation bringing these anti-family changes in all at once.
