OTTAWA, Nov 21 (LSN) – In the 1996 Report of Canada to the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development, the Canadian goverment reveals a portion of its direct funding of population control programs. The report notes that “Canada’s direct support for population programming has been approximately $30 million annually during the last two years.”

Of note is that the organizations and programs targeted with Canadian tax dollars were most virulent in promoting abortion, namely the UNFPA and Planned Parenthood. “Most of this support went to three complementary programs: the United Nations Fund for Population Activities, the Fourth Bangladesh Population Project, and the International Planned Parenthood Federation.”

Claiming to speak for all Canadians, the report goes on to say that “Canada welcomes the expansion of population issues from the traditional focus on family planning to broader issues of women’s health, reproductive health… Canada has committed itself to maintaining and, to the extent possible, increasing its support for population activities.”
