OTTAWA, July 15, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Responding to a letter from a mother concerned about the same-sex ‘marriage’ controversy, Canadian Alliance Foreign Affairs critic Stockwell Day listed nine points that he has publicly made on the issue.  Rather than arguing from religious or moral perspectives, Day tackles the issue by presenting current realities, the need for both democratic process and tolerance of diverse opinions, the necessarily distinct and separate roles of the judiciary and parliament and unknown additional consequences of redefining marriage.  On MP Svend Robinson’s Bill C-250, which adds undefined ‘sexual orientation’ to Canada’s hate crimes law, Day comments, “The present legislative attempt (Svend Robinson’s Bill C-250) to smother discussion on concerns related to homosexual unions is insidious, draconian and not worthy of support in a free nation.”  See the text of the letter at https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2003/jul/030715a.html
