OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) – Despite taking action against more than 400 personnel who refused the experimental COVID jabs, the Canadian Armed Forces now says it will be halting its vaccine mandate later this summer.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, who obtained a leaked document featuring the newly revised vaccination policy, “later this summer” the CAF will be putting an end to their October 2021 vaccine mandate which required all members of the Armed Forces to be “fully vaccinated” with the experimental COVID-19 injections or be discharged from service.

Under the policy, new recruits will no longer have to be “fully vaccinated” against the highly-survivable coronavirus, while current members will no longer have to “attest” to their “vaccine status.”

“Suspending the requirement for CAF members to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will require significant administrative effort to address the files of members who were not compliant with the CDS directives on CAF COVID-19 vaccination,” the leaked document reportedly states, referring to the over 434 members who had administrative action taken against them for refusing the jabs.

While the mandate is being reversed, Edmonton-based lawyer Catherine Christensen, who is currently representing nearly 300 ex-members of the CAF who are suing over the effects of the vaccine mandate, said the possibility of re-enrolment for the already discharged is “smoke and mirrors” as many were given an “unsuitable for further service” release.

“[T]he only person who can re-admit someone who has been released under a 5(f) [unsuitable for further service] is the chief of the defence staff,” Christensen explained, “and I don’t think someone who has gotten rid of so many people from a very short-handed military is now about to allow these people to come back.”

“These people have lost income, promotions and pensions,” the lawyer told the Ottawa Citizen. “These people being released are outstanding soldiers. It’s unbelievable the quality of the people the military is losing.”

The rollback of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s so-called COVID policies has been a common occurrence in Canada in recent weeks.

While the provinces have long done away with vaccine passports and other measures, Trudeau’s Liberals only axed the vaccine mandate for government workers, including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, last month.

Trudeau also held on to the vaccine mandate for all domestic air and train travel for months after provincial leaders removed such vaccine requirements for various aspects of public life, despite a reportedly “massive majority’ of Trudeau’s own MPs calling for the measure’s end.
