Toronto, Oct. 10 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Oct. 9 edition of Toronto’s Catholic Register contains several stories generally lauding Former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau for intellectual greatness and his “Just Society” initiatives which supposedly emanated from his intense Catholic “spiritual journey”. Trudeau’s primary role in the legalization of abortion is only very briefly mentioned in this tribute edition of the prominent Canadian Catholic publication. No mention is made of Trudeau’s institution into Canadian politics of the secular concept that religion and politics must be kept separate and that politicians must not “impose” their morality on Canadians. The former Prime Minister’s very large role in the development of Canada’s permissive society is also given minor prominence in the Catholic newspaper’s articles.
