(LifeSiteNews) — A prominent Canadian doctor, who in the past was persecuted for speaking out against COVID mandates, said Canada is in a “spiritual war” in a fight against rampant abortion and euthanasia taking place across the nation.
While speaking to a crowd at We Unify’s 2025 Reclaiming Conference in Calgary, Alberta, on September 20, Dr. Charles Hoffe said there needs to be a “spiritual solution” to stop abortion and euthanasia.
“A spiritual war doesn’t have a political solution; it has a spiritual solution,” he told conference goers.
Hoffe urged everyone to fight back against the tyranny plaguing Canada, saying God is the answer.
“Ask for His mercy on this nation that has shaken its fists at God,” he said, adding, Canada has ‘killed its unborn’ to the tune of over 100,000 babies a year.”
Hoffe also called out Canada’s government-sanctioned assisted-suicide regime, or Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD).
“Doctors are not supposed to be hurting their patients, whether they’re in the womb or whether they’re elderly,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we’re getting what we deserve, which is the judgment of God.”
Hoffe, while speaking at the conference, also touched on how the COVID vaccine and other mandates amounted to a “spiritual war.”
“This was a spiritual war, because there’s no other way we could get every nation on the planet to go follow the same deception,” he said to those in attendance.
Per a Health Canada note, in 2023, a total of 15,343 people died by euthanasia or MAiD via lethal injections. By comparison, in 2022, 13,241 Canadians died by MAiD.
Euthanasia is the sixth-highest cause of death in Canada, but it was not listed in Statistics Canada’s top 10 leading causes of death from 2019 to 2022.
In February 2022, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) issued a citation against Hoffe that claimed that, since April 2021, he had published “statements on social media and other digital platforms that were misleading, incorrect, or inflammatory about vaccinations, treatments, and public measures relating to COVID-19.”
In April 2021, Hoffe was punished by his local health authority because he raised concerns about the side effects that he observed in some of those who had received the Moderna COVID-19 jab within his community.
Later in the same year, he warned that the worst is “yet to come” due to potential “permanent” damage caused by the injections.
As reported by LifeSiteNews, the CPSBC dropped early this year its proceedings against Hoffe, a frequent critic of COVID jabs and mandates, after accusing him of alleged misconduct.
In total, there were 368,928 babies born in Canada from 2024 to 2025, a number that would be much greater if not for abortion. For context, in 2022, 97,211 Canadian babies were killed by abortion.
LifeSiteNews recently reported how Canada’s birth rate has plunged to an all-time low for the second year in a row and shows no signs of improving anytime soon.
