OTTAWA, Apr 20 (LSN) – On April 2, the federal court of appeal in Ottawa revoked the charitable status of Human Life International (HLI) Canada. The court ruled that HLI’s efforts to educate Canadians on the perils of “sex education,” abortion, and homosexuality constitute “political activity.”  According to Canadian law, a charitable organization may spend only 10% of its revenue on political activities. Pro-life observers note that groups like Planned Parenthood are overtly political, while retaining their charitable status unchallenged.
