The court ruled that HLI’s efforts to educate Canadians on the perils of “sex education,” abortion, and homosexuality constitute “political activity.” According to Canadian law, a charitable organization may spend only 10% of its revenue on political activities. Pro-life observers note that groups like Planned Parenthood are overtly political, while retaining their charitable status unchallenged.
