OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) – The Canadian federal government admitted its much-maligned ArriveCAN app, which is mandated for travelers to use when entering the county, has indeed wrongly placed fully jabbed people into quarantine.

According to a CBC report, Canadian Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino’s press secretary Audrey Champoux told them that Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) “has identified a technical glitch with the app that … can produce an erroneous notification instructing people to quarantine.”

Champoux claimed that only less than 3 percent of travelers have been affected by glitches with ArriveCAN, mostly with those using Apple smartphones.

The government claims that the problem will soon be resolved, and said that those traveling into Canada should go by information given to them by CBSA agents instead of from the travel app.

Last week, news broke that David Crouch, who despite having four COVID shots, was told by the ArriveCAN app that he had to quarantine for 14 days when he got home.

Crouch said that an email from ArriveCAN told him he was in quarantine.

In another instance, a fully jabbed Canadian senior who did not want to put the ArriveCAN app on her phone was told by a border agent that non-compliance would result in quarantine.

“I shouldn’t have to go through this, no Canadian should,” the senior said.

According to the government, ArriveCAN is mandatory for use upon entering Canada for both citizens and foreigners. ArriveCAN was launched in April 2020 and was made mandatory in November 2020.

“If you don’t submit your travel information and proof of vaccination using ArriveCAN, you could be fined $5,000,” the government says.

As it stands now, all travelers arriving in Canada must use the ArriveCAN app to submit their travel and contact information, as well as any COVID vaccination details, before crossing the border or boarding a flight.

Via ArriveCAN, all travelers continue to be “required to submit their mandatory information in ArriveCAN (free mobile app or website) before their arrival in Canada.”

ArriveCAN is the tool that selects whether one is selected for random COVID testing.

Canadians who are not jabbed are allowed to come home to Canada, but the government says they must use the ArriveCAN app, produce a negative COVID test, and quarantine for 14 days.

Unvaccinated foreign nationals are still barred from entry into Canada, the government claims, “because vaccination rates and virus control in other countries varies significantly.

Canada is an outlier in the world in the targeting of the vaccine free by forcing them into quarantine upon return home.

The COVID jab trials have  never produced evidence that vaccines stop infection or transmission. In fact, evidence suggests that the jabs no longer even reduce severe symptoms, especially considering the ever-changing viral variants, and that they are harming more people than helping.

A recent LifeSiteNews report highlights how ArriveCAN has caused much major controversy in recent weeks, notably after Mendicino said the app’s functions would be expanded beyond COVID.

MP: ArriveCAN not about health, but a ‘back door’ to permanent tracking of border crossings

Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) leadership candidate Leslyn Lewis has blasted ArriveCAN, calling for it to be scrapped.

Interim CPC leader Candice Bergen today blasted ArriveCAN and called for it to be removed.

“Canadians have dealt with enough chaos at the airports. The Liberals need to listen to the science and end the ArriveCan app,” Bergen tweeted.

Interestingly, even non-Conservative MPs have blasted ArriveCAN.

In a tweet Sunday, NDP MP Brian Masse tweeted, “I always fight for safety 1st, #ArrivCan is not that.”

“It’s being used as a back door to permanently track all border crossing. MPs need to speak up now or it will destroy our tourism industry, frustrate & create longer line ups when the technology fails,” he said.

Earlier in the month, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government threatened to fine Canadians who do not use the ArriveCAN app.
