OTTAWA, Sept 28 (LSN) – The Canadian Press reported Saturday that inmates in Canadian federal prisons were frequently used as experimental subjects in scientific research looking at the effects of drugs, electric shock, and sensory deprivation. During the same era that spawned abortion in Canada, our federal prison system was wrought with Nazi-style experimentation on inmates. While the government claims that prisoners gave consent to the experiments, ethicists have noted that consent given under conditions of forced incarceration cannot be considered freely given.
