OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) – A departmental corporation of the government of Canada gave millions of dollars in grants to universities and other organizations to create programs to “encourage” people to take the experimental COVID vaccines. Some of the programs that received funding were geared toward promoting the COVID jabs to kids and pregnant/breastfeeding mothers.
Last July, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) officially announced $2.2 million in grants to 48 organizations, claiming the funding “will allow the organizations to mobilize knowledge to improve public understanding of vaccines and help people make evidence-based decisions, especially among populations that are hesitant about vaccines.”
The purpose of the grants, which each total around $50,000, was “to support activities that promote vaccine confidence in Canada.”
The grants went to universities along with other organizations and were jointly funded through NSERC, which itself gave $1 million. The Canadian Institutes of Health Research contributed $750,000, and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council gave $500,000 in funding.
In February 2021, NSERC announced that they would give the money to non-profit organizations to “improve public understanding of vaccines and help Canadians to make evidence-based decisions, especially among populations that are unsure of vaccine safety.”
According to a recent report in the Western Standard, Martin Leroux, NSERC’s senior communications and adviser, said that “complex factors influence the decision to accept vaccines,” adding that some “factors are dependent on science literacy levels and others are personal or societal.”
Some of the grants were given to universities to promote the COVID shots to kids and breastfeeding women, and others went to promote the vaccines through social media.
A list of the 48 grants shows that the University of Windsor received the most money at $199,491 for four separate programs.
An example of some of the University of Windsor programs shows one $49,491 grant going to “improving the uptake of COVID-19 vaccines among the African population living in Windsor-Essex County.”
Another $50,000 was given for “increasing education and vaccine literacy among adults in southwestern Ontario.”
McMaster University received a total of $95,500 for two programs, one of which was $50,000 for “encouraging vaccine confidence among pregnant and breastfeeding Canadians.”
A total of 49,700 was given to Mount Royal University for “encouraging vaccine confidence in school-aged children across Western Canada.”
The University of British Colombia was given $50,000 for “promoting vaccine confidence in Canada through TikTok.”
NSERC is a departmental corporation of the Government of Canada that “funds visionaries, explorers and innovators who are searching for the scientific and technical breakthroughs that will benefit our country.”
Its council is made up of a president and “up to 18 other members appointed from the private and public sectors.”
A recent LifeSiteNews report highlighted that the Canadian COVID vaccine propaganda campaign “This Is Our Shot” was funded by hundreds of businesses, including mainstream media companies and governments, health authorities, big banks, and pharmaceutical companies.
The approval and then promotion of the COVID jabs by governments worldwide came despite the evidence of now well-documented safety issues concerning the experimental shots.
David Gortler, the former senior adviser to the FDA commissioner for drug safety, said recently that “it’s pretty clear today there are both safety and efficacy problems with vaccines and boosters.”
Gortler wrote in a column/a> that the FDA, the Centers for Disease Control, and vaccine-makers Pfizer and Moderna knew all along about the potential for myocarditis and pericarditis risks from the mRNA vaccines.
Gortler is an FDA health and policy fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, and is also a pharmacologist and pharmacist.
Toward the end of November 2021, the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released 91 pages of documents due to a court order that highlight tens of thousands of serious adverse events and more than 1,200 deaths in the first three months after Pfizer’s jab was approved under emergency use authorization (EUA).
In March, the FDA released around 150 documents it reviewed before granting approval of Pfizer’s COVID drugs.
The COVID-19 injections approved for emergency use in Canada have been associated with severe side effects such as blood clots, rashes, miscarriages, and even heart attacks in young, healthy men.
They also have connections to cell lines derived from aborted babies. As a result, many Catholics and other Christians refuse to take them.
Also, the COVID jabs have been linked to a multitude of negative and often severe side effects in children.
As stated by prominent doctor Peter McCullough, M.D., “[For] people under 50 who fundamentally have no health risks, there’s no scientific rationale for them to ever become vaccinated” against COVID-19.
COVID-19 has extremely high survivability among most groups, and studies show a minimal risk of asymptomatic spread. Research also indicates that post-infection natural immunity is far superior to vaccine-induced immunity.
