OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) – Canada’s Public Health Agency spent over $43 million hiring security guards who enforced COVID quarantine rules by making house calls on returning travelers.

As per Blacklock’s Reporter, records show 593,446 “compliance visits,” or “door knocks,” were made to enforce Canada’s 14-day quarantine COVID mandate, which for a time only applied to those without the jabs.

The information was detailed in an Inquiry of Ministry from Canada’s House of Commons requested by Conservative MP Rosemarie Falk. The report highlighted that four security companies were contracted to, in essence, police the federal government’s rules.

The records show that $43.4 million was spent.

Falk voiced concern over what the Public Health Agency was doing regarding reports of security guards harassing people.

“What recourse is the Agency making available to individuals who are harassed or mistreated by a private security officer or firm acting on behalf of the Agency,” Falk asked.

The Inquiry said in reply that all complaints regarding “treatment or conduct during a compliance verification visit that have been received are reviewed.”

Under Canada’s Quarantine Act, all arriving passengers were mandated to stay at home for two weeks.

According to the Public Health Agency, there were 38 complaints made against it, some of which included “aggressive or unprofessional behaviour.”

In March 2021, LifeSiteNews reported on a COVID quarantine officer who was charged with the sexual assault and extortion of an Ontario woman at her home.

The charged officer worked for a security company hired by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government to enforce the mandatory two-week isolations for returning travelers.

There were also instances of people being sexually assaulted at COVID hotels, which for a time were mandatory for travelers after arriving.

According to the Public Health Agency, $14.9 million in fines were made against non-compliant travelers who did not follow quarantine rules.

In a 2021 audit of the quarantine program, Auditor General Karen Hogan concluded that it was “not a success story” and that enforcement was “uneven”

Canada’s Quarantine Act was suspended on October 1, and there are currently no COVID restrictions for entering or leaving the country. The rules had been in place since mid-2020. The much-hated ArriveCAN travel app was also made optional, and a mandate that foreigners must be jabbed to enter Canada was removed.

Canada’s Quarantine Act was used by the federal government to enact severe draconian COVID travel rules on all returning travelers to the country.

Trudeau’s use of the Quarantine Act gave his government the power to place upon Canadians “unprecedented travel and isolation” requirements.

Over the past two years, the government has spent large amounts of money on its COVID dictates. New records show that the mandatory COVID testing at the border cost taxpayers nearly $500 million.
