BANGKOK, Thailand, Jan 25 (LifeSiteNews) – Action Canada for Population and Development (ACPD), a front group for Planned Parenthood of Canada, is putting on a workshop to train youth to lobby for abortion in preparation for Beijing +5.
ACPD is working with the Youth Coalition for ICPD and the Asian-Pacific Resource & Research Centre for Women (ARROW) to produce the “Asia-Pacific Advocacy Training Workshop on Adolescent/Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights” to run Jan 31 – Feb 3 in Bangkok. The groups note they are searching for 20-25 youth to train not only for abortion advocacy at the UN conference but also within the Asia-Pacific region.
LifeSite News reports on the ACPD indicate that ACPD supports abortion, contraception, sex education, and pressure to fund their agenda overseas. Katherine McDonald, executive director of ACPD, was a former executive member of the Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada (PPFD) and is still listed as their legal counsel. Michael Shenstone, chairman of Action Canada for Population and Development (ACPD) was sent as an official observer in a Canadian delegation to the UN Cairo +5 conference. In its preparations for the Cairo +5 conference, the Canadian government enlisting ACPD in an official capacity giving the group $60,000.
