NEW YORK, July 27 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An editorial in Wednesday’s National Post notes that Foreign Affairs Minister Lloyd Axworthy fibbed while promoting the International Criminal Court (ICC) in New York. Axworthy told the New York Times that there was a “national debate” in Canada about the ICC, and that the country signed on to it wholeheartedly. “We sponsored a national forum across the country . Plus we have a major Web site on the issue.” The Post points out that “actually the House of Commons debated the matter for precisely six and a half hours. The Senate dispatched the matter in a matter of minutes.” The Canadian public is known to have little, if any awareness about the ICC and the Canadian government’s giving up of national sovereignty to the court.
