HAMILTON, March 10, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Hamilton police would like to have self-confessed abortionist-shooter James Kopp extradited, once his U.S. trial is completed, for trial in Canada for the attempted murder of Ancaster gynecologist Hugh Short. Short was wounded when a sniper’s bullet maimed his elbow for life, .  “We have an obligation to the victim here,” says Deputy Chief Brian Mullan of the Hamilton police, “Justice must be served.” But the process could be complicated, Mullan admits, requiring approval of both the United States and France. As prime suspect in two other Canadian shootings in Vancouver and Winnipeg, Kopp could be brought here quickly if he himself consents to extradition for whatever reason.  In Buffalo, the Kopp trial will mark the first use of a $50,000 computerized Digital Evidence Presentation System, displaying documents and physical and computer-based evidence as well as 3-D evidence, X-rays and negatives, and enabling “clear and simultaneous review of evidence to the entire courtroom.”  See New York Post coverage:  https://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/31843.htm   In the Buffalo News:  https://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20030309/1047486.asp   For local Hamilton coverage:  https://www.hamiltonspectator.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=hamilton/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1047078145402&call_pageid=1020420665036&col=1014656511815
