The country’s national postal service’s sweeping vaccine mandate requires all workers to receive one of the experimental COVID jabs by Friday or be placed on unpaid leave indefinitely.
“My vaccination status is my health, and it belongs to me,” one Canada Post employee told Rebel News, who covered the protest. “My employer has no right to request it from me. He can’t require those who are not vaccinated to have it. He can’t require me to reveal… my status, exactly.”
Despite being exempt from the federal government’s vaccine mandate, Canada Post decided to enact its own policy anyway, keeping “in line with the federal government’s approach” of compliance with forced injection as a condition of employment.
Much like Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s vaccine mandate for federal workers, Canada Post’s policy does not allow for a testing option, and it also applies to those who work from home.
According to Rebel News, employees at Canada Post are represented by five different unions, and only “a portion of these unions” have decided to uphold their duty and protect their members against the vaccine coercion policy.
As reported by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), two unions, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) and the Canadian Postmasters and Assistants Association, have filed grievances against Canada Post, with the CUPW’s “cease and desist application” slated to be heard by an arbitrator before the Friday deadline.
“Last year…during the worst of COVID waves, we received thank you pins that basically said we were essential workers,” another employee told Rebel News. “And today, we’ll be getting fired on November 26. So, all I’m asking for is help from my union.”
Despite the prevalence of employer-imposed vaccine mandates, many experts consider the coercive measure to be totally unnecessary given COVID-19’s high survivability among most groups, low risk of asymptomatic spread, and research indicating that post-infection natural immunity is equally protective against reinfection.
Further, coronavirus vaccine trials have never produced evidence that the vaccines stop infection or transmission. They do not even claim to reduce hospitalization, but the measurement of success is in preventing severe symptoms of COVID-19 disease.
Meanwhile, the list of FDA-recognized adverse events from the shots has grown from severe anaphylactic reactions to include fatal thrombotic events, the inflammatory heart condition myocarditis, and neurologically disabling disease like Guillain Barré Syndrome, as well as thousands of recorded deaths and permanent disabilities.
