OTTAWA, April 27, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The long struggle to stop gay activist NDP MP Svend Robinson’s Bill C-250, which adds the wide open term “sexual orientation” to Canada’s hate crimes law, appears to be almost over thanks to corrupt manipulation of Senate procedures by supporters of the bill.  At about 6 pm this evening, the Senate passed Senator Lowell Murray’s unprecedented motion of closure which immediately ended all debate on C-250. Because of a motion passed last week, any debate of Senator Murray’s closure motion was disallowed. Senator Serge Joyal, who, as stated by REAL Women of Canada, is a homosexual Liberal from Montreal.  An assistant to Senator Anne Cools told LifeSiteNews.com that it has been a rough day for the Senator who has been leading efforts to stop C-250 in the Senate. The assistant said that Senators spoke right over Senator Cools when she was speaking and would not acknowledge her requests to be heard.  An assistant to another senator said that the procedures today on C-250 were “highly irregular” and “did not follow proper rules of the Senate”. She said there were “lots of reversals and strange decisions” during the rigged C-250 part of today’s session of the Senate.  This follows the pattern of many other irregularities that have been committed to further the bill on its passage through the House of Commons and the Senate.
