OTTAWA, March 31, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In another surprise move the Liberal government had its Assisted Human Reproduction Act, Bill C-13 suddenly scheduled for final third reading debate today rather then Tuesday or Wednesday, previously expected.  A look at the legislative Order Paper revealed, however, that insufficient time was allotted to the three different bills on today’s order paper. Thus the time for debates on bills ended before C-13 could be considered.  Since the vote is set to immediately follow third reading debate, C-13 will be voted on shortly, some believe as early as this week. However, considering the autocratic, totally unpredictable control over the process wielded by the Prime Minister’s Office, a sure date for a final vote on the legislation cannot be known. Even the Liberal government’s own party members have been repeatedly kept in the dark as emperor Chretien, and his inner, mostly un-elected power circle, toys with them and constantly change its schemes.
