LIMA, March 8, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – As Peruvians prepare to head to the polls for a federal election April 9, Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani encouraged voters to cast their ballots for candidates who would uphold the right to life of the unborn.

“Among those who are running, think of the ones who defend life and the family,” he said in his weekly radio address, Dialogue of Faith, according to a Zenit news report. “Defend your vote for life and the family.”

Last month, United Nations representative Jairo Palacio urged presidential candidates to include election platforms to legalize the abortifacient morning-after pill.
