BALTIMORE, April 8, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Catholic Review, the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Baltimore published an article March 27 entitled “Cardinal Keeler assails Sen. Mikulski’s vote against partial-birth abortion ban.”  The article refers to a March 21 letter in which Cardinal Keeler writes U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.), a Catholic living in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, regarding her vote against a ban on the late-term abortion procedure.  “I am deeply troubled by your continuing insistence that such a heinous procedure should be available in the United States of America,” said Cardinal Keeler.  The paper notes that the cardinal has often appealed to Maryland’s senators to support a ban on partial-birth abortion. In addition to sending letters over the years, in 1998 the cardinal urged Maryland’s Catholics to pray a nine-week novena asking God to help the two senators “fully accept the Gospel of Life,” reports the diocesan paper.  See the full article from The Catholic Review:  https://www.catholicreview.org/articles2/CardinalKeelerassailsvotebySenatorMikulskiagainstpartialbirthabortionban.htm
