CHICAGO, June 24 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop of Chicago is scheduled to lead a prayer vigil for an anticipated 900 pro-lifers outside the Humbolt Park Centro abortuary this Saturday. With this action, Cardinal George joins many (at least 45) other bishops who have taken part in similar prayer vigils throughout the US. New York’s Cardinal John O’Connor has been a promoter of the bishops’ involvement in the solemn prayer vigils for life as well as an active participant.

Organized by the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants, an international Catholic pro-life group,  the event will commence with a Mass at the nearby St. Sylvester Church, followed by a procession of prayer to the abortuary.
