News

Tens of thousands of readers pass through LifeSiteNews every single day of the year. But you may wonder how many actually stop to give a helping hand every now and then with a donation. The answer to that question may come as shocking.

Anywhere from 30,000 to 50,000 people on any given day, and some days far more, read LifeSiteNews reports. Over 3 million unique visitors came to the LSN website in the last 12 months. As well, our articles are extensively forwarded and re-published on numerous websites and in other publications.

But despite these impressive numbers, a grand total of only 1351 persons have generously donated to support LifeSiteNews so far in 2010

We certainly do not tell you this to make anyone feel bad. We just thought you should know. The fact is, it is normal for most people to think others are carrying the load, while they themselves are too busy or committed to other things to give serious attention to the LSN appeals.

As it turns out, however, only a tiny percentage of our readership is carrying the load. Perhaps with this campaign we can change that situation.

Just think about it: with only about 1% of readers currently supporting LifeSiteNews this year, if just an additional 1% more donated, we could double our current funds!

Donations are so important to us because we do not charge for LifeSiteNews. LSN is free because we want our news reports to reach as far and wide as possible in order to have the maximum impact in changing the culture.  LifeSiteNews is deliberately a non-profit organization for that reason.

As anyone who reads LSN reports knows, any contribution to LSN has a BIG impact on our culture. Take for example this excerpt from a recent letter to the editor from one of our readers:

“Thank you, also, for not being afraid to acknowledge the growing link between the birth-control pill and breast cancer.  As a young, unsaved woman and later as a faithful and forgiven married woman, I used the pill for several years.  In October of 2009, when my youngest son was just 7 weeks old, I was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer.

“Following surgery in December, I endured 4 months of chemotherapy and am about to start 6 weeks of daily radiation.  Thankfully, the prognosis for me is very good, but I wish so much that I had never used the pill.  Please continue to shed light in this area.”

So not only does our reporting inform minds, convert hearts and save lives, but it also fights cancer! This woman's moving testimony truly does demonstrate the dire importance of truthful information in today's perilous culture.

Will you help us spread our crucial news to more people with a financial gift today?

I especially encourage you to commit to a monthly recurring donation.  Currently, readers have made such a commitment for amounts varying from $5 to $500 per month. Can you make a commitment of $10, $25, or even $50 or more a month to help us reach our goal for this campaign?

Monthly recurring donations provide LSN with a steady source of income, allowing us to make plans for the future and to receive a steady source of funds between our quarterly campaigns.  While I know that some are not in a financial position to give monthly, we hope that those of you who are able to do so will go on line and arrange such an automatic monthly donation.

When you think about it, $10 a month isn't all that much.  Maybe it means sacrificing the price of one movie ticket or a few ice creams during the hot summer months. For those who can make a greater sacrifice, consider $25 or $50 per month.

Whatever you can do to help this mission of truthful reporting would be most appreciated not only by us, but more importantly by those whose lives will change because of your donation to LSN.
