BAYREUTH, Germany, April 3, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The German Catholic Bishops Conference and the Evangelical Church in Germany have joined in an effort to promote the upcoming May 3-10 pro-life week. “The Possibilities and Limits of Medical Progress,” this year’s theme for the event indicates the focus on embryonic stem cell research and such illicit forms of modern technology which chase the “dream of perfect humans” at the expense of life.  Cardinal Karl Lehmann, president of the German Bishops’ Conference and Praeses Manfred Kock, chairman of the Evanglical Church in Germany, launched the pro-life week preparations at a press conference Monday.  The churches have jointly launched a website to promote pro-life week.  Both churches have planned church services to support a focus on the sanctity of life.  See the website (in German) at:  https://www.ekd.de/woche/2003/
