Catholic Anti-Kerry Organization to Air Radio Spots on Kerry’s Anti-Catholic Positions

September 1, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The organization, Catholics Against Kerry (CAK) has launched a series of radio ads designed to attract the attention of Catholic swing voters in Pennsylvania, a key battleground according to their public relations officer, Michael Pearce. “One-third of its population is Catholic makes it an essential audience for our message,” said Pearce.  The ads run about 30 seconds and say that John Kerry is an ardent supporter of abortion, and will be effectively anti-Catholic in his decisions as President. “John Kerry’s very first Senate speech was a pledge to support abortion,” says the announcer in the spot.  Catholics Against Kerry hopes to build on the media attention gained by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth who recently came forward with allegations that Kerry had lied about his Viet Nam war record. Pearce said that Kerry has “made it clear that he does not accept the most fundamental Catholic value; protecting innocent human life.” CAK is a non-affiliated organization run by lay Catholics who do not support any particular candidate or party, but whose mandate is to show how Senator Kerry’s positions on abortion, marriage and contraception are at odds with the Catholic faith he claims to profess.  Pearce said in a press release, “John Kerry has recklessly voted in opposition to even the most limited forms of restrictions on abortions, including partial birth abortion.
