OTTAWA, Nov 11 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Catholic Health Association of Canada (CHAC), a group representing more than 130 Catholic hospitals and homes and over 120 associations issued a press release Monday condemning the Preven “emergency contraceptive” kit. The release says that “CHAC opposes any procedure in which the direct, immediate purpose is to terminate a   pregnancy at any stage after fertilization.”

CHAC takes issue with the deception used by the drug’s marketer Roberts Pharmaceuticals in calling the drugs “contraception” rather than abortifacient. “If, as the manufacturer claims,  the drug alters the uterine lining so that it will not receive a fertilized ovum, the drug should, in fact, be regarded as an abortifacient. Use of the drug would deliberately prevent a fertilized egg from developing,” says the release.
