UNITED NATIONS, May 19 (LifeSiteNews.com) – LifeSite has obtained a letter from the a Life Member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) denouncing support for the International March of Women 2000. Jakki Jeffs, a permanent member of the national council of the CWL, former member of the CWL Ontario provincial board, and former diocesan president of the Hamilton CWL, has issued an open letter and drafted a diocesan resolution calling on the national executive of the CWL to publicly withdraw support for the march.

Catholic Insight is set to report in its June editorial on the subject that a Cambridge, ON CWL council with over 200 members has passed resolutions calling not only for the CWL to remove its support for the march but also for the resignation of the National Executive over the fiasco. At the Peterborough CWL convention ending May 1, of the 200 members present, 195 voted to disassociate themselves from the march. Councils in Toronto, Durham, ON, and Prince George, BC have reported similar actions.
