UN TO ALTER UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

NEW YORK, Nov 21 (LSN) – In a recent publication, the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights released a “basic information kit” in preparation for the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. MSNBC is carrying the story of the Christians who had septuplets (seven children) born today. In the story, they have an “instant poll” with the following wording: “Do you think Bobbi McCaughey should have undergone selective reduction to improve the survival chances of the babies who would have remained?” Beyond the fact that the question is very biased in its wording, it is also somewhat ironic that all four girls and three boys are doing relatively well. SUPREME COURT TO HEAR BIZARRE SUIT

OTTAWA, Nov 20 (LSN) – The Supreme Court of Canada agreed today to hear an appeal in the case of a little boy suing his mother for injuries suffered in the womb. The New Brunswick court ruled that Ryan Dobson could sue his mother for injuries he incurred when her car crashed into a pickup truck when she was pregnant. In an appeal the New Brunswick Court of Appeal upheld the lower court ruling saying, “A pregnant mother has a general duty to drive carefully, a duty she owes to her children as well as to the general public.”

EUTHANASIA DRUG BEING MADE IN CANADA

VANCOUVER, Nov 20 (LSN) – According to the Brockville Recorder and Times, doctors in Vancouver, the US and Australia are working on a euthanasia drug that aims to bypass laws prohibitting suicide. The “suicide pill” as it is being referred to would use over-the-counter substances combined to make a lethal dose and be self-administered, not necessarily in the presence of a doctor.

The Bill proposes to amend the Criminal Code to prohibit coercion in medical procedures that offend a person’s religion or belief that human life is inviolable from conception till natural death.
