The abortion advocacy movie Cider House Rules has been nominated for best picture and six other awards for next Sunday’s Oscars.  The Conservative News Service reports that pressure from homosexual groups who are trying to shut down the planned Dr. Laura Schlessinger television show – before it even hits the airwaves – seems to have had little effect on the local stations that have agreed to carry the show.  Britain is to break ranks with America and let China off the hook at this week’s UN annual human rights meeting. Though the U.S. said in January that it would sponsor […]

UNITED NATIONS, Mar 21 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A United Nations University study released at U.N.  headquarters in New York, said that sovereignty can be forfeited on humanitarian grounds and intervention should not be subject to veto by members of the Security Council. “Kosovo and The Challenge of Humanitarian Intervention” calls itself a “compendium of authoritative viewpoints on many dimensions of the 1999 crisis”. The authors, Tokyo university’s, Ramesh Thakur, and Albrecht Schnabel with contributor Ray Funnel, a retired Australian air marshal, call for “an international consensus about the point at which a state forfeits its sovereignty.” They also recommend the removal […]

NAC LOBBY GROUP ADMITS IT IS 50% LESBIAN

OTTAWA, Mar 21 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The National Action Committee on the Status of Women (NAC), which has long-claimed to represent the vast majority of Canadian women, has been found to consist of “at least” 50% lesbians. With the national average of lesbians in the population running around 2%, the gross misrepresentation is stunning. The Toronto Sun reported today that a NAC official confirmed that “the lobby group speaks for 740 groups representing 3 million women and ‘at least 50%’ are lesbian.” “That’s not very representative of the general population,”  REAL Women’s Diane Watts told the paper.  This admission by NAC […]

GOVERNMENT VETOES PUBLIC DEBATE ON OMNIBUS HOMOSEXUAL LEGISLATION

OTTAWA, Mar 20 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Liberal government has refused to hear from ordinary Canadians on their same-sex benefits legislation, Bill C-23. Last Thursday, Reform MP Eric Lowther moved a motion in the Justice Committee to have the committee travel to every province and hear witnesses on Bill C-23, and to have the committee hearings televised. The Liberal dominated committee voted down both suggestions. The vote to kill the resolution was close,  however, with committee Chair Andy Scott (Lib., Fredericton) being required to cast his vote (against Lowther’s motion) to break a tie and suppress a more democratic resolution to […]
