4 ONTARIO PRO-LIFERS CHARGED IN COURT

St. Thomas, ON, Jan 19 (LSN) – Last week the court trial of John Bulsza, Rosemary Connell, Ann-Marie Tomlins, and William (Bill) Whatcott began.  The four pro-lifers are being charged with publicly exhibiting a disgusting object, to wit: a dismembered aborted fetus and causing a public disturbance by exhibiting an indecent exhibition, to wit: a dismembered aborted fetus.  The charges stem from their participation in the “Show the Truth Tour”, a pro-life demonstration which draws attention to the horrors of abortion. STATISTICS CANADA RELEASES FIGURES ON TEENAGE PREGNANCY

OTTAWA, Jan 16 (LSN) – The number of pregnancies among women 15 to 19 rose to 45,771 in 1995, compared with 39,340 in 1987, a rise of 15.3 per cent, Statistics Canada reported today. The organization also reported that the proportion of teen pregnancies ending in abortion rose to 45 per cent in 1994 from 26 per cent in 1974. In 1994, 21,000 teens had abortions, accounting for 20 per cent of all abortions in that year.

BRAZILIAN ABORTION PROMOTING AD PULLED

BRAZIL, Jan 16 (LSN) – As Brazil’s Congress debates a bill that would allow rape victims to have publicly funded abortions in public hospitals, a Brazilian lingerie company put out an ad promoting abortion.  The company published a two-page ad the national news-magazine Istoe.  The ad depicted a woman in lingerie between two men about to rape her with the caption reading, “Legalize abortion fast.  I don’t want to wait.”  On Thursday, Brazil’s government asked Brazil’s self-regulating advertising industry to pull the ad.  The lingerie company could face a $1.7 million fine from the government Consumer Protection Agency for “abusive […]

LATIMER’S PROSECUTOR PROSECUTED

REGINA, Jan 6 (LSN) – Randy Kirkham, the Saskatchewan Crown prosecutor who dealt with Robert Latimer’s original 1994 trial, is set to go to trial for his mishandling of the Latimer case on May 4. Kirkham was charged in June 1996 for allegedly instructing police to ask prospective jurors about their views on mercy killing, abortion and religion.  The questioning resulted in a mistrial, which led to Latimer’s recent re-trial.

US SHOWS CONCERN REGARDING WORLD COURT

WASHINGTON, Jan 16 (LSN) – Insight magazine, a national weekly newsmagazine published in Washington,  D.C., by The Washington Times Corporation, revealed the growing concern of Americans in regard to the coming International Court.  In their latest issue, author David Wagner presents some troubling information.  Alfred P. UN DOCUMENT OUTLINES PLAN TO PROSECUTE PRO-LIFERS

GENEVA, Jan 15 (LSN) – A UN document released recently reveals the international body’s plans criminalize what it calls “forced pregnancy” (i.e.discouraging or forbidding abortions). IVF RESULTS IN CHILD WITH MIXED ANATOMY

SCOTLAND, Jan 15 (LSN) – Yesterday, doctors in Scotland reported the discovery that a test-tube baby has both male and female sex organs. The finding has led to increased concern that in vitro fertilization (IVF) techniques increase the odds of such aberrations. MICHIGAN, Jan 15 (LSN) – Right to Life of Michigan (RLM) will hold a press conference Friday to unveil a 30-second media spot that features one of the final interviews with Mother Teresa. KEVORKIAN’S LAWYER TO RUN FOR GOVERNOR

DETROIT, Jan 14 (LSN) – Assisted-suicide activist Jack Kevorkian’s notorious lawyer, Geoffrey Fieger,  announced yesterday his intention to run for the Democratic nomination to become Governor of Michigan.  Fieger has outspokenly defended Kevorkian from all attacks and is himself one of the foremost proponents of assisted suicide in the US.  Fieger’s motive in running is to unseat Republican Governor John Engler, who opposes Kevorkian’s illegal pursuit of legalized assisted suicide.
