UN: USE HIGH TECH COMMUNICATIONS TO PROMOTE ABORTION

ANKARA, Turkey, Dec 10 (LSN)  In conjunction with the Turkish government, the UN’s Population Fund (UNFPA) competed a four day “expert seminar” this week discussing the promotion of “reproductive health and rights” with the use of “information and communications technology.” The seminar entitled, “ICPD Advocacy in the Global Information and Knowledge Management Age,” sought to use “new technologies to advocate for the goals of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD)” which promoted abortion.  The UN press release detailing the event can be found at:  http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/1998/19981208.pop693.html

SUSPICIOUS PRO-ABORT ATTEMPTS TO STEER MURDER INVESTIGATION TO PRO-LIFERS

HAMILTON, Dec 9 (LSN) – Will Offley, a radical pro-abortion activist and former security guard at a Vancouver abortuary, has undertaken a campaign to implicate the Christian Heritage Party and Campaign Life Coalition in recent violence against abortionists. Offley was interviewed by both CBC radio and the Hamilton Spectator and permitted to launch his slanderous accusations against pro-lifers without the pro-lifers having equal opportunity to respond. KEVORKIAN WILL GO TO TRIAL FOR MURDER

WATERFORD, Michigan, Dec 9 (LSN)  After a preliminary hearing today Michigan District Court Judge Phyllis McMillen has ordered euthanasia activist Jack Kevorkian to stand trial for first-degree murder,  assisted suicide, and delivering a controlled substance in the death of Thomas Youk. A copy of the tape showing the murder which was aired on CBS’s “60 Minutes” was shown at the hearing. In her comments the judge noted that “The intent to kill was premeditated and thought out beforehand.”

HUMAN CLONING IN BRITAIN?

LONDON, Dec 9 (LSN)  A group of scientists hired by the British government to review the country’s policy on cloning released their report yesterday in which they urge the government to drop their strong stand against human cloning. While not agreeing to allow full cloning of human beings, the group recommended Britain allow human cells to be cloned. Pro-life groups reacted immediately condemning the report since the material used for the cloning of human cells comes from aborted embryos.  In a related story Japanese researchers reported yesterday that they have cloned an adult cow and produced 8 genetically identical calves.

ABORTED BABY PARTS BEING USED TO TREAT PARKINSON’S

MOST CANADIAN DOCTORS WILLING TO ASSIST SUICIDES?

TORONTO, Dec 8 (LSN)  A survey of Canadian physicians engineered by the Medical Post, a weekly newspaper geared to doctors, and conducted by the Angus Reid group claims most doctors are willing to assist in suicides. The National Post reported yesterday that the poll indicated that “52% of doctors said they would be inclined to participate in physician-assisted suicide if it were legal under strictly defined circumstances.” The survey also claims that “42% believe young female patients should have access to abortion services without parental knowledge or consent.”

TORONTO, Dec 7 (LSN)  Tina Kolar, a Toronto business woman, is marketing a sex-selection method to Canadians using France’s Selnas technique based on Natural Family Planning methodology. For $500 Kolar and her Right Baby Inc. provide a calendar, based on information about the menstrual cycles of the would-be mother, that “identifies the days that are right for the conception of a boy or girl according to the parent’s choice.”  While Materna, the parent company in France claims a better than 95% success rate, scientists are skeptical. SUPREME COURT TO HEAR CHALLENGE TO FETAL RIGHTS

OTTAWA, Dec 7 (LSN)  Tomorrow the Supreme Court of Canada will hear an appeal in the case of a little boy suing his mother for injuries suffered while in the womb. A New Brunswick court originally ruled that Ryan Dobson could sue his mother Cynthia for injuries he incurred when her car crashed into a pickup truck when she was pregnant.
