TORONTO, Apr 30 (LSN) – In court yesterday, Crown Attorney Michael Leshner called for a six-year jail term for prominent Toronto AIDS doctor Maurice Genereux, convicted in January of assisting the suicide attempts of two of his patients. Genereux’s lawyer called for a suspended sentence.  Mr Leshner described Genereux as “cunning, deceitful, lying, and manipulative” in his prescription of drugs to be used for suicides, and in his subsequent concealment of the evidence. BRAMPTON, ON, Apr 30 (LSN) – Yesterday, The Toronto Star reported that parents of several 10-year-old students at Kingswood Drive Public School are protesting a shockingly explicit and unauthorized sex education lecture given by teacher Peter Rowan to his grade five class. The students told their parents that Rowan described homosexual activity and condom use in graphic detail.  After being confronted by the school principal and several concerned parents last Friday, Rowan was removed from the class until a disciplinary hearing was held on Monday. SPAIN – A twelve-year-old court case involving abortion is to be decided in the next two weeks in Spain, renewing debate in the country on the issue. In the 1980’s, police raided a private abortuary in Malaga where illegal abortions were being done. Over 10,000 abortions were committed in the clinic before police closed it down. BOSNIA, Apr 29 (LSN) – The UN controlled NATO forces have decided to create an “intervention tribunal”  designed to clamp down on politically incorrect information. The idea gained popularity after heavily armed NATO “peacekeepers” seized four radio and television transmitters controlled by Bosnian Serbs last October. WASHINGTON, Apr. 28 (LSN) – The US Senate voted today to approve funding for the UN, with some conditions on the use of US funds to promote abortion. It seems likely, however, that President Bill Clinton, a strident supporter of abortion “rights,” will veto the proposal, as he has done in recent years. The legislation offers the UN $819 million, and forgiveness of a $107 million debt owed to the United States. AUGUSTA, Apr. 28 (LSN) – The two Christian groups who spearheaded the successful campaign to revoke Maine’s pro-homosexual law last February are set to repeat their performance, this time focusing on partial-birth abortion.
