TORONTO, Jan 12 (LifeSiteNews.com) – For the last few months CBC television has been preparing a “documentary” on anti-abortion violence to be aired on The National on January 19. Pro-life leaders interviewed by CBC for the story say that the producers appear to have pre-judged the pro-life movement. Interviewees note that the interviewer was aggressive, and kept harping on the idea of guilt by association.

Canada’s national Broadcasting Corporation has often been guilty of pro-abortion bias, however, at times it has reported pro-life issues fairly when other news agencies failed in this regard. It will be interesting to see if there will be balanced and fair reporting in this “documentary”. Pro-lifers are asked to watch out for bias in the reporting. These would include tactics such as disproportionate coverage between pro-lifers and pro-abortionists, the attribution of “expert” to those being interviewed, and attempts through carefully crafted and selected clips to create apparent links between the mainstream movement and the few violent fringe anti-abortionists.

Pro-lifers are encouraged to watch the show and to launch strong protests if the program exhibits pro-abortion bias, or manipulative reporting designed to denigrate the mainstream pro-life movement, or accusations and insinuations not backed up with solid evidence.  Protest should also be forwarded if the program fails to mention pro-abortion violence as was recently experienced in Toronto and Kingston during the “Show the Truth” tour.  In Toronto 12 pro-abortion protesters were arrested by police for showing up to a pro-life demonstration wielding baseball bats, and at least one with a spike through it.
