NEW YORK, July 4 (LSN.ca) – Bryant Gumbel, host of CBS’ The Early Show, could not hide his animosity and intolerance for those opposed to his pro-homosexual views last Thursday. In the wake of the US Supreme Court decision permitting Boy Scouts to ban practicing homosexuals as leaders, Gumbel interviewed Robert Knight of the Family Research Council (FRC). During the interview Gumbel was clearly hostile to the views expressed by his guest and on a clip shown after the interview Gumbel comments “What a f***ing idiot.” (The first two words are audible and the last can be lip read, according to observers.)

The American Family Association has called on CBS President & CEO Leslie Moonves to immediately fire the intolerant morning show host Gumbel over the remarks. “In this day of tolerance and diversity, Mr. Gumbel’s obvious intolerance and bigotry is unacceptable. CBS should fire him immediately. There should be no place at CBS for such intolerance and bigotry,” said AFA President Donald E. Wildmon.
