LOS ANGELES, December 7, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – Charlie Sheen is denying that he bullied his ex-fiancee to abort his baby because he feared the child would be born “retarded.”

The story came to light last week when his onetime fiancee, pornstar Brett Rossi, filed a lawsuit in California Superior Court accusing the actor of physical abuse, pressuring her to abort, and covering up his HIV status.

During the 26-year-old's tumultuous relationship with the 50-year-old Hollywood scion, Rossi said she lived in perpetual fear of Sheen's violent outbursts. The actor, she claimed, put her at risk for contracting the AIDS virus, pointed a gun at her and hired an assassin to kill her husband, Jonathan Ross, whom she was in the process of divorcing.

Rossi became pregnant in March 2014 but said that Sheen pressured her to have an abortion at once, saying she would give birth to a “retarded child.”

Sheen, who recently admitted he is HIV-positive, “he did not want his child to have his blood type,” according to Rossi's legal complaint.

Rossi said she eventually yielded to the pressure and scheduled an abortion, but the abuse – including throwing a cement pillar at her – continued.

She recently told US Magazine that she is suffering symptoms that may be associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). “Because of him, I’ve lost my dignity,” she told Fox News. “I’ve had to go through months and months of therapy. I have nightmares.”

A 2007 study published in BMC Psychiatry found that nearly 20 percent of all post-abortive women suffered PTSD. Five years later, researchers at the University of Sienna issued a meta-analysis that linked abortion with “long-term anxiety and depression.”

Rossi is suing Sheen for assault and battery, emotional distress, false imprisonment, and negligence, saying that her lawsuit is motivated by a sense of justice. “If I wanted money, I would have kept our child,” she said. “The reason why I’m going against him in court is because what he did to me and how it will affect me for the rest of my life.”

After the allegations dropped late last week, Charlie Sheen's circle began to push back.

“Charlie believes the entire baby claim was a total lie,” an anonymous person close to Sheen told Radar online. “Did she ever even have an abortion?”

“She left Charlie’s house one morning, came back a few hours later, and announced to Charlie that she’d had an abortion. There was no paperwork, no receipt, or no discussion beforehand,” the source said. “It’s suspicious.”

Sheen's lawyer, Martin Singer, disclosed the pornstar's real name in a statement, saying the actor will “vigorously defend the lawsuit filed by Scottine Ross. We are confident that Mr. Sheen will prevail in this action.”
