Ireland, July 28, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Following the publicity of Ireland’s Crisis Pregnancy Association’s annual report, which revealed that the average age for the first sexual encounter is dropping, the Irish health minister has said she believes that the Morning After Pill should be made available for children as young as 11 years old.

“Girls as young as 11 are involved in sexual relationships and much as we may find that astonishing, I think we have to deal with the reality and the consequences of that and we have to make sure that if the Morning-After pill is required that it is available to somebody in that age group,” said Ms. Harney, the health minister.

She also added that, “Clearly their parents have to be involved if they are under-age.”

The Morning After Pill delivers massive doses of hormones to the bodies of women who take it; they serve not only to prevent fertilization of a sperm and an egg, but also prevent the implantation of a fertilized embryo in the womb, effectively causing an abortion.
