MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan 24 (LifeSiteNews) – Glenn Penner, Director of Development for Voice of the Martyrs, included a special report in the latest issue of the organization’s newsletter on the persecution Christians are facing in Egypt. In the report, Penner also discusses the suffering of persecuted Christians from Sudan who have fled to Egypt’s capital, Cairo, and notes that many of the women are pregnant. He says: “Many Sudanese mothers are pregnant and unable to pay the fee that hospitals regularly charge them to deliver their baby. Dr. S.  [name kept confidential by VOM for security purposes] is trying to provide affordable medical help for these dear people, but the hospital is unable to subsidize her work.”

Penner then notes that this doctor delivers an average of five Sudanese babies each day. He adds that VOM sent $14,000 from their Relief and Development Fund to Egypt to help workers provide for the medical needs of these Sudanese refugees.
