WASHINGTON, D. C. (LifeSiteNews) — On Easter Sunday, Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer stated that, in the confirmation of pro-abortion Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, “the stone has been rolled away from the tomb.”

Schumer was addressing worshippers from the pulpit of A.R. Bernard’s Christian Cultural Center Megachurch in New York City during their “Resurrection Sunday” service.

The senator is not a Christian.

“Even in the darkest times, there are bright lights,” Schumer said.

“And this month, folks, we witnessed one of the brightest that we hope is a metaphor, an indication, a good omen of more bright lights to come, the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice KBJ.”

The senior United States senator from New York celebrated Jackson’s appointment and the appointment of others blasphemously, saying of them, “the stone has been rolled away from the tomb.”

The comments were caught on Twitter.

As LifeSiteNews reported at the time of Jackson’s confirmation, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released a statement immediately following the confirmation.

“Biden’s pick Ketanji Brown Jackson is a radical, activist judge, one who failed to answer simple questions on her record, including leniency for child porn offenders and support of CRT,” McDaniel said.

“Jackson has proved to be in lockstep with the far left’s political agenda, even refusing to define what a woman is. The RNC will hold Democrats accountable this November for supporting Biden’s radical pick.”

Jackson replaces liberal, pro-abortion Justice Stephen Breyer, aged 83. Breyer has consistently voted with the other Supreme Court liberals and repeatedly voted against pro-life legislation.
