Regarding the March 25 LifeSite story “VANCOUVER ARCHBISHOP GRANTS VICTORY TO PARENTS IN SEX-ED BATTLE,” Archbishop Adam Exner would like to clarify that he did not suggest that the former proposed program was not in conformity with the Holy See. In a letter to LifeSite, the archbishop pointed out that “In the previous proposed program, which involved the mandatory use of either “Fully Alive” or “Growing in Love,” the biological aspects of sexuality education were to be done by the parents, in keeping with the principle that parents are the first educators of their children.” The archbishop also wrote, “I appreciate your support for the recent changes we have made to our policy on sexuality education.”
