OTTAWA, January 15, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Ontario Health Minister Tony Clement widely rumoured to be interested in running for Leadership of the Ontario Tories, has announced he is running for Leadership of the federal Conservative Party. 

Also Belinda Stronach the Magna International CEO is set to announce a run for the Conservative Leadership next week. Both candidates are pro-abortion. 

In other political news, Liberal MP Sheila Copps, a staunch abortion supporter has spoken with NDP Leader Jack Layton and has refused to rule out moving to the NDP.  “I’ve always figured when a door closes another door opens, and I wouldn’t rule anything out in politics,” Copps said in a CBC interview. 

Riding boundary changes have pitted Copps against Transport Minister Tony Valeri in a contest to become the Liberal candidate in the next federal election, expected in May.
