WASHINGTON, D.C., August 4, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) — A Daily Caller investigation into Hillary Clinton's financial backers shows that her top 20 donors could together cover the taxpayer-funded portion of Planned Parenthood's annual budget for the next 120 years.

Clinton's top 20 supporters are worth $64.5 billion. Planned Parenthood receives more than $550 million in taxpayer dollars every year, with the other half of its budget coming from grants, service fees, and private donations.

Clinton supporters include Warren Buffett (who also gave $63.5 million to Planned Parenthood in 2014), billionaire financier George Soros (who gave $20 million to Planned Parenthood through one of his charities, and millions more through other organizations), DreamWorks co-founders Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg, hedge fund founder James Simons, venture capitalist J.B. Pritzker (who gave $500,000 to Planned Parenthood Votes), billionaire heir and architect Jon Stryker (who gave $100,000 to Planned Parenthood Votes), and Houston attorney John Mostyn.

The Daily Caller compiled campaign donation data from the Federal Election Commission and the Center for Responsive Politics, and calculated Clinton donors' net worth from various public sources.

Meanwhile, a new poll shows the majority of Americans oppose tax funding for abortion, even among those who identify as abortion supporters.

The latest Knights of Columbus-Marist poll, taken in July, found that 62 percent of Americans oppose public funding for abortion, including the 51 percent of respondents who identified themselves as “pro-choice.”

As the Daily Caller reports, “It’s clear that if wealthy Clinton donors wanted to support their candidate’s position and end the standoff, they could.”

Nevertheless, Clinton has repeatedly promised not only to keep taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood but also to increase public funding for the abortion business and expand the industry throughout the world. And fellow Democrats — who are a major recipient of Planned Parenthood campaign contributions — continue to stop bills banning tax funds for the abortion giant.

“In recent years, the abortion industry has moved from 'choice' to coercion, dropping the facade of an interest in respecting people's decisions, and using their political allies to punish pro-life people and businesses when they do not want to participate with an anti-life agenda,” Americans United for Life spokeswoman Kristi Hamrick told LifeSiteNews.

“The abortion industry has worked to ensnare all Americans into supporting their anti-woman agenda, to both mute our opposition to ending preborn human life, and to silence us about the reality that abortion harms women,” Hamrick noted.

Hamrick concluded from the Daily Caller's financial analysis that the pro-abortion agenda is not just about the money.

“The fact that the abortion industry could fund itself, without manipulating taxpayers, shows in part that the goal is not merely the money, but rather is an attempt to force allegiance to their deadly agenda,” she said.

“Why else would the Obama Administration and their allies in the abortion industry go to court to force nuns to buy life-ending products they neither need nor want?”

“Even today, Planned Parenthood is engaged in a number of lawsuits arguing that any cut in funds to them is somehow unconstitutional, implying that the founding fathers intended the nation's largest abortion provider to be tax funded,” Ms. Hamrick added.  “With that logic, you would think that abortion advocates would also support some kind of tax subsidies to the gun lobby, as a right to bear arms is actually in the Constitution, compared to a 'right' to abortion, which has been created by activists judges.”

Hamrick concluded that the abortion industry's culture of death is destroying Americans' humanity.

“In attempting to force Americans to subsidize the abortion industry, those who do not respect the right to life attempt to bring into the mainstream of American life the idea that ending life is of no consequence,” she told LifeSiteNews.

“But women and their unborn children are harmed by abortion, and so we will continue to attempt to defund those who sell a brutal end to unborn life.”

According to Planned Parenthood statistics, it performed 323,999 abortions in its most recent fiscal year.
