WASHINGTON, Mar 31 (LifeSiteNews.com) – As the US Supreme Court prepares to hear the case of a Nebraska abortionist who opposes the state’s law forbidding partial-birth abortion, the abortion procedures greatest defender is hoping to participate. US President Bill Clinton, who has twice vetoed federal legislation to ban the infanticidal procedure, has requested that his administration be allowed to intervene in the Nebraska case.

In a friend-of-the-court brief made public Thursday government lawyers called the Nebraska law “unconstitutional” saying it was too broad and didn’t include exceptions for health (other than the life of the mother).

AP reports that the Court’s decision in the case, expected by late June, may determine the fate of 30 states’ bans on partial-birth abortion.
