Planned Parenthood has announced it is closing its Rapid City office on December 5, leaving the abortion giant with only one remaining location in the state of South Dakota.

According to its website, the Rapid City clinic provides abortion referrals, the morning after pill, and contraceptives.

“Planned Parenthood’s announcement that it is closing its Rapid City, South Dakota, facility was met with great joy in our office,” said American Life League President Judie Brown.

Sarah Stoesz – who is president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota – said that the chapter had found that other clinics in the Rapid City region could handle its patients. “I am extremely confident that the patients we serve in Rapid City will be able to get the care they need moving forward,” Stoesz said.

“We’ve got providers ready and willing” to “cover the need,” said Tim Trithart, CEO of Community Health Center of the Black Hills, a family planning facility.

The remaining Planned Parenthood location, which is the only licensed abortion facility in the state, is in Sioux Falls.
