Dear Readers,

President Obama and his team have proven to be very crafty, so we suggest his statement that FOCA is no longer his “highest legislative priority” should not cause us to lessen our vigilance. His continuing appointments of the most radically pro-abortion of US politicians to his inner circle tells all we need to know about where he wants to take the United States and the world on this issue.

As well, Hilary Clinton’s admission that the Obama administration interprets the term “reproductive health” to include abortion is a  massive and ominous change in US foreign policy.

First off, the suggestion that UN agreements give that interpretation to the term is a downright lie. Secondly, we have now lost our most important ally in the United Nations on this issue. The US delegations under President Bush consistently resisted intense pressure from UN bureaucrats, many NGOs and other western nations to redefine “reproductive health” to include abortion. With that gone now, we are likely in for a massive increase in abortion pressure throughout the world – with the United States leading and US taxpayers paying for what is essentially a form of genocide.

By the way, Secretary of State Clinton’s admission is one of many grave developments that seriously contradict the strange conclusions of an April 29 L’Osservatore Romano article. It states, “On ethical questions, too—which from the time of the electoral campaign have been the subject of strong worries by the Catholic bishops—Obama does not seem to have confirmed the radical innovations that he had discussed.” Many pro-life leaders are dismayed by that one and the Archbishop Fisichella Article in L’Osservatore Romano in March on the Brazilian abortion of twins.

Any good news, you say? You bet. Lots. 57 US bishops have now publicly and strongly come out against the Notre Dame Obama invitation. Senator Robert Casey looks like he will finally be denied communion by his bishop. The swine flu epidemic is very likely no epidemic at all. Whew! Miss California is standing up to all the hate against her. Planned Parenthood in Tennessee may lose their state taxpayer funding (we hope this becomes a nationwide trend).

Finally, check out the newsbytes that were sent out and posted earlier today. There are some very significant stories in those two NewsBytes reports that we have not been able to cover ourselves. I know there is an almost overwhelming list of links there, but just focus on those of special interest to you.
