Kathleen Gilbert provides some insight into why the battle to defend natural marriage is being lost – mainly because of a lack of will and strong leadership and subequent inability to discern truth. Cowardice is a large factor.

This is a tough issue and in this age of entertainment, comfort and political correctness, leadership would rather avoid difficult issues such as the harm of homosexuality. They would much rather safely and uselessly talk about “the beauty of marriage”, than what this whole thing is about – attempted forced acceptance of homosexuality, the obliteration of natural marriage and a radical restructuring of society. And, most importantly, their avoidance strategy reveals a lack of love – for those involved in homosexuality, for children who are being targetted by this movement, for society that will be affected and for God, who did not make mankind to engage in such aberrant sexual behaviours.

Militant Islam is another one of those issues that most would rather avoid discussing. After all, we are in a post Christian society. Right? And just as with the gays, what the Islamists do in our country is their business, not mine. They will eventually assimilate, like all past immigrants. Wrong. Very wrong. The interview with Robert Reilly is enlightening and strongly recommended. It presents a possible solution to the dilemma.

Another Catholic college invites President Obama to speak and to exploit it to further split and weaken the US Catholic community. Sigh. Who needs enemies when your own do you in.
