Dear Readers,
John McCain certainly caught everyone off guard with his astonishing choice of Sarah Palin to be his vice-presidential running mate. A brilliant choice and quite frankly, in the opinion of many, the very best he could have made. It’s just that nobody thought Palin was available for the job or that McCain would have seriously considered her.

It’s a new ballgame now. Palin is not only solidly pro-life and pro-family but is also one very attractive, personable, bright and gutsy woman. See her great speech while it is still on line at https://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/26460643#26457563  (starts at around 7 minutes 20 sec.).

This development is so radically unexpected that it is hard to understand how it could have happened, but I gather all pro-life Americans are thrilled beyond measure about it. I just saw Pat Buchanan on NBC’s Hardball go on and on with such enthusiasm I thought he was going to have a stroke. That is how excited Palin has made principled Americans.

It’s amazing how this election race keeps changing so dramatically. The next two months are certain to be very interesting indeed. What a roller coaster ride.

Senator Obama delivered a powerful speech the night before with more substance than his usual light fare. However, as a National Review writer stated, “Many voters will be fooled by last night’s speech. If Obama wins, they should not be surprised, three years from now, to hear themselves saying something similar:  ‘This is not the Barack Obama I thought I knew . . . ‘”  That is, what the man often says and what he really believes have always been suspected to be very different. And that is not a partisan position. Any fair observer of the facts must conclude that.

Our reports on the Brazilian vaccination program has gotten the WHO all riled up. Well, it should have. This is very serious stuff. How do the international population control mobsters keep getting away with their deadly anti-human tactics? There are not enough people challenging them and too many politicians willing to  look the other way for political and economic payoffs – in country after country. We could intellectualize and sugarcoat it with nice, respectful sounding pronouncements but that has been going on for too many years – and look at the result. It’s time for good Brazilians and citizens of many other nations to stand up to the de-population imperialists.

In Mexico another form of the same imperialism is taking place using corrupt judges. Father Thomas Euteneuer of HLI is no wimp. He tells it like it is and warns that the decision by the Mexican judges threatens all of Latin America. This is a must read to understand what is really going on here and where it could lead and therefore why we all must do what we can to stop it.

We should once again thank Nancy Pelosi for waking up the US bishops who are now personally (rather than leaving it up to the NCCB bureaucracy) teaching the truth on the hard issue of abortion with a new level of passion and confidence. Two more bishops have joined the public defense of truth and unapologetic challenge to falsehoods. Now we need many more to join in and then to keep it up and challenge the culture as they have not done in recent memory. Mind you, it’s only a beginning but a very good one.

In Canada, a federal election announcement appears imminent. At the moment it seems certain this will be a very different race than the US one. Cowardice and extreme political caution reign supreme in secular Canada while the Human Rights Commissions are allowed to increasingly trash sacred religious freedoms and conscience rights. No major party or leader will dare say or do anything to defend the lives of the unborn, family life is left to the ravages of anti-family secularist forces and Christ is in practise denied by the vast majority of Christian politicians. Candidates will be told to shut up about any issues of real substance and most will sadly behave as mindless robots controlled by the leaders’ offices. There is no champion for life and family at the leadership level of any of Canada’s major political parties.

LifeSiteNews is having a long weekend as we hope you are as well. We will be back on Tuesday although there may be a few reports over the weekend.

  Have a good weekend.
